This video does a great job presenting the QAR Strategy by showing different types of questions that might be asked and answered from a text. She divides questions into two categories--those that can be answered directly from the text and those answers that can be founds through a higher level thinking skill. She gives examples for each. It is good to teach and model to students how there are many different types of questions and answers.

This video is a more general overview of reading comprehension strategies, including QAR, but I felt the first speaker, (there is a panel) had some really good explanations for why a student might be having difficulty comprehending. She talks about all the possible breakdowns in comprehension, including word meanings, text structures but also how these weaknesses can be fixed through teaching correct comprehension strategies.
