Video 1
This teacher is doing a great job of using Thinking Aloud Strategy. She uses the strategy for not only literature but for Social Studies and Current Events. At one point she is trying to connect a text to current world situations. She uses the Gettysburg Address and relates it to a current war in Libya. I like this strategy, because it allows the teacher to model how texts should be questioned or thought about.

Video 2
This is another great example of Thinking Aloud Strategies. She thinks aloud about questions that should be asked before reading. She has some great ideas about some questions that would help in student understanding. During the text, she may stop to summarize, predict or reread some confusing parts. At the end of the story she responds to the story. She is modeling this as a think aloud and demonstrating what students should be asking themselves.
