Semantic Feature Analysis (Why we should use it)
"The Semantic Feature Analysis strategy engages students in reading assignments by asking them to relate selected vocabulary to key features of the text." (adlit.org) This strategy helps students explore how a sets of things are related to each other. By using a grid, students complete and analyze the connection between the concepts.
Semantic Feature Analysis helps by: 1.) understanding the meaning of the vocabulary selected. 2.) grouping the vocabulary words into categories 3.) analyzing the completed grid. Students can see the connections, make predictions and better comprehend the concepts.
